The Delco R314 is a 14′ deck model in the R3 Series. I-Beam Frame Construction The R314 and R316 models are built on an 8″ x 13 lb I-beam frame with a 10″ x 12 lb gooseneck neck. This combination provides the bending strength needed to carry fully loaded roll-off bins at the 14K capacity level. The R320 steps up to a 12″ x 19 lb I-beam frame and neck, a heavier structural specification designed to handle the additional load and span demands of the 20′ deck. I-beam construction is used in the R3 because it provides superior resistance to the vertical and lateral forces generated by roll-off loading and unloading operations, especially when a loaded bin is being set or picked up at an angle. Electric Brake Axle System The R314 and R316 run on a tandem pair of 7K electric brake axles for a combined 14,000-pound axle rating. The R320 upgrades to dual 8K electric brake axles for increased capacity at the 20′ deck length.
