Wenonah Minnesota II, Carbon Kevlar Ultralight

This is our special Carbon Kevlar ultralight construction, weighing in at just 41 lbs, with a shiny black Carbon Fiber exterior and Kevlar interior layers. Quite a bit more durable than Wenonah's "graphite ultra-light" layup with less Kelvar, which was derived to shave off every pound possible for their racing canoes.  We've been ordering this Carbon Kevlar layup for decades since its beauty, lightness and durability suits our customers very well. Special upgrade: integral Kevlar skid plates bow and stern.  The most efficient, stable tandem tripping canoe ever. The Minnesota II offers a unique blend of capacity, stability and VERY efficient paddling. If you travel the waters of the Adirondacks, Boundary Waters, or Canada's Algonquin and Quetico Parks, you'll see lots of our Jensen-designed canoes. You'll hear rave reviews, too, because Jensen designs are widely acclaimed by the most experienced and most dedicated paddlers, professional guides, and park rangers of the lake country as the ideal canoes for remote trips with gear. Since we made the Minnesota II for use where week-long outings are typical, we gave this design high capacity and seaworthiness to hold two people or a family with plenty of gear, and especially to cope well with open lake waves and wind.Best of all -- and the reason the Minnesota II is so popular -- is that it has unmatched performance when loaded. It travels great distances, at high speeds, with less effort than any other tandem performance canoe. We take the Minnesota II on our family trips since nothing else has its combined efficiency, capacity, and lightness.Canoe & Kayak Magazine noted, "Apart from superb final stability, the best feature is how it returns to course in waves." This advanced hull design is ideal for trips on lakes and mild rivers wherever you find them. The bow and stern height are kept low to catch less wind but with lots of overall volume for capacity and riding over boat wakes. You can easily tell that this is a carefully shaped design; it paddles more easily than any other tripping canoe and yet also has a predictable feel in calm or rough waters.Length provides more surface area, which provides more volume, capacity and stability.Length allows that surface area and volume to have a very sleek shape that cuts thru the water quietly and with very little effort.
