About Tandem Axle Utility Trailers Our Tandem Axle Utility Trailers are available in 3 grades – Base, Regular and Premium. The Base trailer is “no frills” with a 3 x 2 x 3/16 angle iron main frame and 2 x 2 x 1/8 angle iron top rails. Cross members are 2 x 2 x 1/4 angle iron. The Base models are all 77″ wide. The Regular model has the same frame runners and top rail, but upgrades to 3″ channel cross members and is 82″ wide. The Regular Tandem Axle Utility Trailers also add a dovetail and full length wrap around tongue that comes back to the axles. Additionally, this model adds steps in front of and behind the fenders, as well as reflective tape. The Premium Tandem Axle Utility Trailer includes all of our best features, such as spring assist, a US made sealed modular wiring harness with 5-year warranty, rubber mounted LED lights and a swing up jack. This model also upgrades to square tubing top rails. All of our Tandem Axle Utility Trailers are built with premium Dexter brand axles and feature brakes on all 4 wheels. The Premium models also feature upgraded Westlake 205/75 15 D range premium tires on 3,500 lb. axles, and 225/75 15 E Range tires on 4,400 lb. and 5,200 lb. axles. The Westlake tire is superior in its load rating and reliability.
